Designer Rules & Requirements
Main Event Guidelines:
  1. Exclusive Fall/Spooky Item:

    • Designers must create 1 new exclusive item for the event. The price is at your discretion.

    • Event-Exclusive Definition: Exclusives must be reserved for the duration of the event and should not be available anywhere else until after the event. For example, variations (like different textures) of the exclusive item should not be available at other events.

    • After the event, exclusives can be sold in your store.

  2. "Haunt or Treat" Gift:

    • Each designer is required to provide 1 new gift. See the "Haunt or Treat Gift Requirements" section below for details.

  3. Event Promotion - Event Product Ad Submission & Event Poster Placement:

    • Accepted stores must display the event poster/subscriber in or near your main store.

    • Images of both your exclusive item and gift are required for inclusion in the Trick or Treat Lane Shopping Guide.

    • Submission: Send item images through our submission form.

Trick Or Treat Lane "Haunt or Treat" Gift Requirements: ** NEW RULES 2024**

This year’s gift rules offer more flexibility for both designers and shoppers.

This years change: Shoppers can either hunt for the gift for free or purchase it for 50L$ at your booth’s poster stand.

  1. Gift Details:

    • Gifts must be new items – special recolors or redesigns are acceptable, but the items must be fresh and reflective of your store's style.

    • You may offer up to 2 gifts for this event.

  2. "Haunt or Treat" Gift Options for Shoppers:

    • Hunt for Free:

      • Hide your gift somewhere in your booth by placing it with the provided little ghost holding a gift bag. Shoppers who find the ghost will receive the gift for free.

    • 50L$ Buy Option:

      • Designers are required to place the same gift on a special stand in front of your booth with the prize poster. Shoppers who prefer to skip the hunt will be able to purchase the gift for 50L$.

  3. Gift Image Requirement:

    • An image of your gift is required for promotional purposes. These images will be used in our shopping guides and posted in front of your booth to showcase your "treat."

  4. Setup Deadline:

    • All gifts must be set up by the booth setup deadline. Late setups are not allowed as timely preparation is crucial for the event’s success.

  5. Post-Event Gift Use:

    • After the event, you may sell your gifts at full price, offer them as group gifts, or retire them.

Theme:

The event’s theme is Fall Fun & Halloween. Designers must ensure that their items fit within this broad theme, which can include autumn, Halloween, trick-or-treating, candy, and anything spooky or eerie.

Fees & Prim Limits:
  • Landing Point Spot (Very Limited):

    • Fee: 3750L$

    • Prim Allowance: 75 prims (LI) for items and unscripted decor.

    • Bonus: First stop off the landing point and extra prims.

  • Regular Spot Fee:

    • Fee: 2750L$

    • Prim Allowance: 50 prims (LI) for items and unscripted decor.

  • Extra Prims:

    • Additional prims can be purchased in lots of 25 prims for 250L$.

    • Extra prims can be purchased at any time by Landing Point or Regular spot holders. Please contact the event owner if more are needed.

    • Note: Treat Bag prims do not count towards your prim limit.

Deadlines & Extensions:
  • Setup Deadline:

    • All booths must be set up by the deadline in the event calendar. This ensures media coverage and allows bloggers time to review before the event opens.

    • Failure to set up by the deadline will result in removal from the event unless an extension is purchased.

  • 24-Hour Setup Extension:

    • A one-time 24-hour extension can be purchased if needed. This must be arranged before the booth check deadline.

    • Fee: 1000L$

    • Note: Refunds will not be issued once the extension is purchased, even if you finish early.

Event Coverage:

While we strive to secure event coverage, it is not guaranteed that every outlet will feature Trick or Treat Lane. However, we work hard to promote the event through various advertising channels.

Event Setup & Vendor Systems:
  1. Exclusive Tag:

    • Exclusives must be marked with the provided Exclusive Tag to help customers and event coverage (e.g., Seraphim) easily identify new items for inclusion in their guides.

  2. Vendor Restrictions:

    • Single-prim vendors only. Scrolling vendors are not allowed and will be returned due to lag concerns.

    • Vendor systems such as MD or Caspervend are permitted as long as they adhere to the no-scrolling rule.

    • Caspervend Users: Must use the event vendor scripts. More information is available on the Caspervend Wiki.

    • Pose Stores: The scrolling vendor rule may be waived for demo displays, provided you have a demo out for customers.

  3. Gacha Machines:

    • Per Linden Labs’ new ruling, Gacha machines are not permitted at DP Events. Any Gacha machines will be returned without warning.

  4. Adult Demos:

    • No adult demos are allowed, as the sim is rated Mature, not Adult.

    • Solution: You may place a teleport sign directing customers to a location where they can test adult demos.

Acceptance to the Event:
  • We aim to accept 40-50 designers for the event. More may be accepted if space permits. All types of stores are welcome (fashion, decor, kids), but priority will be given to those whose products fit the theme best.

  • If accepted, designers will need to be added to the Dark Passions Land Group. Only accepted designers will be contacted, and if you’re placed on the waitlist, you may be contacted if space opens up.

  • The official designer list will be posted on the main page of the Dark Passions Events website.
